
Taking Back My Time: Prioritizing My Own Interests

As a mom, it's easy to get sucked into the vortex of parenting responsibilities. We spend our days managing schedules, making meals, and refereeing arguments. But in the midst of all the chaos, it's easy to forget one important thing: our own interests.
For me, becoming a mom meant putting my own hobbies and passions on the backburner. But as time went on, I realized that neglecting my own interests was taking a toll on my mental and emotional health.
That's why I've made it a priority to take back my time and prioritize my own interests. Here are some ways I'm doing it:
1. Scheduling me-time: I treat my own interests and hobbies as non-negotiable appointments.
2. Revisiting old passions: I've dusted off old hobbies and interests that brought me joy before motherhood.
3. Exploring new interests: I've tried new things, like painting and cooking, and discovered new passions.
4. Asking for help: I've learned to ask for help from my partner, family, and friends so I can have time for myself.
Some of my favorite ways to prioritize my own interests include:
• Reading a book in peace
• Taking a solo walk in nature
• Practicing yoga or meditation
• Learning a new skill or hobby
• Enjoying a cup of coffee or tea in quiet
Remember, taking back your time and prioritizing your own interests is not selfish – it's essential. By nourishing your own mind, body, and soul, you'll become a happier, healthier, and more fulfilled mom.
