To my children
Hey Baby
As I sit here, reflecting on the joys of motherhood, I am overwhelmed with emotion. Being your mom is the most rewarding, challenging, and transformative experience of my life.
As a Black woman, I know that our experiences are unique. We face systemic barriers, biases, and stereotypes that can make motherhood feel like a daunting task. But despite these challenges, we thrive. We love. We nurture. We rise.
You bring me joy in ways I never thought possible. Your smile lights up my world. Your laughter is music to my ears. Your hugs are the best medicine for my soul.
But motherhood is not just about the warm and fuzzy feelings. It's about the hard work, the sacrifices, and the sleepless nights. It's about advocating for you, protecting you, and fighting for your rights.
As your mom, I promise to always be there for you. To support you, to guide you, and to love you unconditionally. I promise to teach you about your heritage, your culture, and your history. I promise to help you grow into a strong, confident, and compassionate person.
To all the Black moms out there, I see you. I hear you. I feel you. We are the backbone of our communities, the pillars of our families, and the guardians of our children's futures.
Let's celebrate our love, our labor, and our legacy. Let's honor our ancestors, our sisters, and our daughters. Let's rise up and claim our rightful place as the queens of our households, our communities, and our world.
With all my love,
Lisha Loves
